Jodi McGraw Consulting has implemented a series of projects to research and recover the state and federally-listed Santa Cruz cypress, by:
- Mapping the distribution and estimating abundance of four of the species’ five populations;
- Establishing demographic monitoring for three populations, to track survivorship, growth, and fecundity over time;
- Conducting post-fire monitoring of the Bonny Doon population following the 2008 Martin Fire, to evaluate seedling establishment; and
- Collecting seed for long term ex situ seed banking to preserve genetic diversity.
