Jodi McGraw Consulting is part of a multi-disciplinary team working to reclaim and restore habitat within the Olympia Quarry near Scotts Valley, CA. JMc’s work since 2012 has included:
- Preparing the revegetation plan for the site, which is an essential part of the overall reclamation plan;
- Conducting exotic plant management, to provide opportunities for native plants and animals;
- Implementing revegetation activities to restore to restore sandhills, wetland, and riparian communities, including seed collection, seeding, and outplanting container plants grown from site-collected seed to maintain genetic integrity of the local populations;
- Monitoring endangered species populations and implementing species protection measures to safeguard rare plants and insects during the course of reclamation activities.
JMc conducts this work in collaboration with interns from UC Santa Cruz, providing aspiring restoration ecologists and biologists with hands-on opportunities to learn a diverse suite of conservation and restoration practices.
